Transport for London Launches Taxi Fares and Tariffs Consultation for 2024/25 Transport for London (TfL) has launched a new consultation to review taxi fares and tariffs for the 2024/25 period. The consultation, which began on Monday, 21 October 2024, will be open for feedback until Monday, 2 December 2024. The consultation seeks input from a wide range of stakeholders, including London’s boroughs, and invites all interested parties to provide their views on potential changes to taxi (black cab) fares and tariffs. The Taxi and Private Hire team at TfL welcomes engagement and is open to discussions with borough representatives who may have questions or require additional information. The consultation covers three key areas: Minimum Fare and Tariffs – The consultation is seeking feedback on whether the minimum fare and tariffs should be frozen or increased for the upcoming year. Heathrow Extra – A proposal has been made to reduce the Heathrow Extra charge, which is currently £2.00 for journeys originating from Heathrow Airport, to £1.60. Heathrow Drop-Off Charge – The consultation asks whether the current drop-off charge for journeys to Heathrow Airport should be increased, reduced, frozen, or removed. www.londoncouncils.gov.uk/news-and-press-releases/2024/transport-london-launches-taxi-fares-and-tariffs-consultation-202425
