Blackpool taxi rules are clarified as Ubers move in Fylde coast cabbies have been told drivers – including Uber drivers – do have the right to work in the area even if their vehicles are not licensed locally. Licensing chiefs at Blackpool, Fylde and Wyre councils have joined forces to send out a special briefing note in response to false information being spread on social media. Since the deregulation of the taxi industry in 2015, private hire drivers have been able to operate anywhere in England and Wales with a local authority licence.
