Taxi drivers from Honeybourne and Southam have licences revoked for speeding TWO taxi drivers operating in Stratford district have had their licences revoked for speeding. A 58-year-old from Southam failed to notify Stratford District Council of speeding convictions within the required time period. Over a 10-month period, he had been convicted of three separate driving offences. They were all for exceeding the statutory speed limit on a public road and received nine points on his driving licence. The driver also informed SDC of another speeding offence pending a hearing at Warwickshire Magistrate’s Court in September. The second driver was a 75-year-old from Honeybourne. He was previously suspended for a 12 weeks in October 2023 for failing to inform the local authority of speeding offences. He has now been convicted of another offence, an SP50, which is also pending a hearing at Warwickshire Magistrate’s Court in August. The Licensing Panel found the drivers were no longer considered to be fit and proper to hold a Dual Driver (Hackney Carriage and Private Hire) licence. The decision was made to revoke both licences. eveshamobserver.co.uk/news/taxi-drivers-from-honeybourne-and-southam-have-licences-revoked-for-speeding/
