A cab driver who lost his hair after his son broke his leg on holiday has got his confidence back thanks to a hair tattoo. Dean Young started losing his hair after his son Ryan Young, 26, broke his leg while skiing in France, in January 2020.
The 62-year-old was so worried he began to develop bald patches. Despite being prescribed steroid cream by his GP to help the hair grow back, nothing seemed to work, and Dean began feel ‘’his confidence slipping away’’.
The issue was exacerbated by his fears passengers in his cab would stare at the back of his head- leaving him feeling more insecure than ever. In February 2023, his son Ryan reached out to Hair Tattoo in Brentwood, Essex, and after a phone consultation with owner Simon Ford, 52, Dean decided to try scalp micropigmentation.
Hair tattooing, or scalp micropigmentation, is a non-surgical, superficial cosmetic tattoo that gives the illusion of a close buzz cut hairstyle. He forked out £1500 for three sessions over three months and has been ‘’blown away by the results’’.
