A well-known and long-established airport transfer business in East Yorkshire has been put on the market.
With 700 regular clients to its name and close to £100,000 in forward bookings, Airlink Travel is for sale due to the retirement of its owners, who set up the business 33 years ago.
The business alone, currently operating out of the rural hamlet of Catfoss, near Hornsea, in Holderness, is being sold through agents Ernest Wilson & Co, for £49,950, or is available with a three-bedroom home and potential for an Airbnb holiday cottage, for a total of £450,000.
Describing the business as an “outstanding travel and transport service opportunity”, the agent said Airlink provided general travellers with airport and cruise transfers, as well as valuable, long-standing transport contracts for schools, the MoD, and trailer support to groups and teams of cyclists, as well as private hire transport to and from sporting events, weddings and “even the odd stag and hen night”.
“Even a simple local taxi service is offered, as conventional private hire taxis are rarely available in the local area. There is a real shortage of available 16-seater minibus services in the East Riding of Yorkshire and Hull areas, leaving a huge opportunity for younger, more ambitious owners to really take advantage of work that the current owner often has to turn down, regrettably.
“The Airlink Travel name is tremendously well-known and highly respected, although a modernistic approach to promoting it further, by way of social media especially, would prove to be hugely rewarding. Most attractive to any potential buyer is the diary of forward bookings, which, as an example, already accounts for an expected revenue of £80,000 to £100,000 in the period of just five months from August to December.”
