Food delivery bicycles are becoming a menace on Coventry's streets, according to a local taxi driver. The driver, who wishes to be remained anonymous, works in Coventry city centre and drives around the Salt Lane area.
And he said that the food delivery bikes are going down the high street the wrong way, mounting pavements, travelling at speeds he estimates to be around 30mph and going the wrong way down one-way Salt Lane. He said: “I had to slam my brakes on the other day when one came down the one-way street.
"If you spent an hour on the high street, you would see it yourself they don’t slow down," he said. "The bikes are travelling so fast. It’s an accident waiting to happen."
