6 Year Anti Corrosion Treatment

just had a letter informing me that my cab needs to be treated at 12/36/60 month intervals with dinitrol is this a scam does anyone know what lti charge the jokers charged me £176 for 12k service if it want for the warranty i would never go near them again

Sorry it took me so long to check this out, your Major Service should NOT have included the Anti-Corrosive treatment in the price. Although I would doubt the treatment would have been done to the correct level if at all, the link at the bottom of the post leads to the booklet of recommended procedures for the treatment.

I have had some similar experiences at this garage in the past and I can not see the young and inexperience mechanics be able to fulfill these correct procedures. This procedure is properly the best on the market and will give a very long life to your cab body, in the service manual there is reference to steam cleaning to the bottom of your vehicle, which is why I have never steamed cleaned the bottom of my cab, the pressure a steam clean can do will with out doubt wash away this protection and should never be done !!

LTI VEHICLES AND DGB STERLING LIMITED DINITROL® 6-YEAR ANTI-CORROSION PROGRAMME

During the manufacture of your vehicle it was protected against inside-to-outside corrosion using DINITROL® anti-corrosion materials provided by DGB Sterling Limited. Following the initial registration of your vehicle, information was passed to DGB Sterling Limited for them to register your details for the 6-year Anti-Corrosion programme for your vehicle. Full compliance with this programme enables DGB Sterling Limited to guarantee your vehicle against inside to-outside corrosion for a period of six years from the date of first registration.

Within approximately six weeks from the date of first registration of your vehicle you should receive from DGB Sterling Limited a guarantee booklet which will explain in more detail the full terms and conditions of this 6 year anti-corrosion programme. If you do not receive this information, please contact your supplying Dealer without delay so that this can be corrected.

For the 6-year Anti-Corrosion programme to remain valid, body service retreatments must be carried out at 1, 3 and 5 years from the date of registration of the vehicle. These have to take place at an LTI Vehicles and DGB Sterling Limited approved retreatment centre who will then affix the DINITROL® guarantee treatment validation stamp to the guarantee booklet. As part of the DGB Sterling Limited service package, before the first body service is due, they will send you a reminder to have the anti- corrosion retreatment carried out.

In line with all other routine servicing, the body service retreatment will be charged for, but we are certain that you appreciate that this will add to the value of the warranty package that accompanies all LTI Vehicles.

May we also remind you that if any parts of the bodywork covered by the guarantee are replaced or repaired following accident damage, these parts must be treated at the time of repair using DINITROL® anti-corrosion materials for the guarantee to remain valid.

This guarantee is in addition to and does not in any way affect or limit the statutory rights of the owner of the vehicle.
