A woman has been left with 'life-changing injuries' following a head-on crash on a busy Reading road. Police and paramedics were called to Tilehurst Road at around 2.15am on Saturday morning, December 17, following the incident - which involved a blue Vauxhall Meriva and a taxi.
The woman, who is in her 30s and was one of the passengers in the taxi, is being treated at Oxford's John Radcliffe Hospital. A second passenger, a man aged in his thirties, suffered less serious injuries and was taken to the Royal Berkshire Hospital and has since been discharged.
Thames Valley Police has launched an investigation into the crash and a 34-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of driving a motor vehicle while over the limit for alcohol and driving a vehicle without insurance. The man, from Woodley, has been released under investigation.
