Convoy of 40 black cabs to bring disadvantaged families from London to Dreamland in Margate
Dreamland's re-opening. Matt Crossick/PA Wire A convoy of 40 black cabs will bring disadvantaged young people and their families from London to Margate’s Dreamland on Monday. Following 2016’s successful revival of the seaside tradition, the event will see the procession of cabs, run by the Albany Taxi Charity, travel along Marine Terrace in Margate as the children swap the city for the Kent coast. The park will open exclusively to welcome those travelling in the cabs as they get set to enjoy an afternoon of Dreamland’s rides and entertainment which have proved popular since its grand re-opening at the end of May. Dreamland’s visitors will be able to explore the new park and its attractions - including restored vintage rides, as well as taking part in activities throughout the afternoon, with the event running from 12-5pm. As well as a roller disco and the all-new dining area, dubbed The Friendliest Food Court Ever, visitors will also see a special visit from the park’s bears in residence, Teddy and Betty. www.kentnews.co.uk/business/convoy-of-40-black-cabs-to-bring-disadvantaged-families-from-london-to-dreamland-in-margate-1-5082010
