Friend's of Lancasterian
Friend's of Lancasterian is a registered charity that works to support Lancasterian Specialist School.
We believe that each individual child with a disability should feel that 'they matter' and can be included with their able bodied peers. Disabled children and young people often lead very restrictive and isolated lives. The lack of accessible transport and play facilities means that many disabled children miss out on the healthy physical, social and emotional development that all children benefit from on a daily basis.
The Board members of the charity are Sam Hough (Chair), Gavin Lumsdon (Treasurer), Russell Miller (Bid Writer), Helen Butler (Parent), Jen Riley (Parent), Ian Reid & John Consterdine (Community).
Not only does FOL host events to raise money we also assist with school events such as the Christmas and Summer Fair's and we are always grateful of any help you can offer.
This year we will be hosting a Zip-slide to raise money for outdoor play equipment, it will take place on Sunday October 13th 2013 and we need as many 'zippers' as possible. For more information please contact Sam Hough through school or by email sam.friendsoflancasterian@gmail.com.
We would like to thank David Chan whose son attends Lancasterian, who has completed The Great Manchester Run and has donated all fundraising to FOL.
Another big thank you goes to Manchester Taxi Aid who has chosen FOL along with another charity as their charity of the year and they will be doing many events throughout the year to raise money for us.
We have just paid for 6 new Ipads, 4 digital cameras & 4 digital camcorders and we are hoping to raise more funds for more ICT equipment and some switch toys.
We are constantly looking for more help and support so please if you can help by having a dress down day at work or baking cakes then please let us know
