Police investigating a two-car crash which left a pedestrian critically injured in Liverpool city centre have made further arrests.
The crash happened after a white Audi was seen speeding down The Strand at about 01:10 BST on Saturday.
The Audi struck a private hire car, which in turn hit a 44-year-old man near Brunswick Street.
A 28-year-old man from Southport has been arrested on suspicion of a number of driving offences.
The man was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving, failing to stop or report a road traffic collision and driving while unfit through drink or drugs.
Police also arrested a 36-year-old man from Southport and a 53-year-old woman on suspicion of perverting the course of justice.
The pedestrian was taken to hospital while the private hire car driver - a man in his 50s - was treated for neck injuries.
