Dear all,
Colleagues from Street Management and Parking have asked me to contact representatives of the Hackney Carriage and Private Hire trade to advise of an ongoing traffic management issue within the Sackville/ Bloom St area of the Village,
During the early hours of the morning the area suffers from congestion , this is caused by a number of factors including illegal parking/ stopping, pick ups/ drop offs and pedestrian footfall.
When congestion occurs this tends to result in drivers using their vehicle horns. The disruption caused to local residents is considerable , and observations indicate that the noise and congestion only begin to reduce after 4.30am . In an attempt to try and resolve this problem additional parking enforcement officers have been deployed to the area and will be issuing fixed penalty notices where appropriate.
Could you please bring this issue to the attention of your members, and ask that your members are considerate to other road users and do not block roads when picking up/ dropping off. Observations are likely to be made of any stationery vehicles and Fixed Penalty Notices issued where appropriate.
