Your talking about Frank the Mummy (ex Chorlton st) he must be dead now, but perhaps not stuffed. I have to admit that Frank the mummy came to mind. Remember some of the old timers?, Hole in the head Fred, Anxious moments, Billy the belly. Milky, Egg on legs, John the handsome git  , etc etc. It seems like most drivers had nicknames in the old days. That seems like a world away nowadays. Probably less than 2% of todays driver would have a clue what you were talking about if you mentioned any of those names. |
