I was surprised that nobody followed up on the fulsome praise from Les regarding Pat's generous contribution to the fighting fund. I have known Pat for more years than I care to remember, we were born about two hundred yards apart and went to the same Primary school. ( He is a little bit older than me and I used to think he was a teacher ) but I digress... anybody in the trade, past or present, will know that Pat is one of the most modest and unassuming men that you could meet. To borrow a phrase from our American cousins Pat, if you're in trouble, is a "go to guy". The stories are legion of his willingness to give up his time to help drivers, whether at the town hall as advocate or going out to broken down vehicles. We have been very lucky to have had Pat and his partner Joe Thorley working in tandem through some difficult times in the cab trade.

I am often disappointed by the responses I receive to some of my stories on here, Ged.
Sometimes we have over 140 guest a day, and no input whatever.
However the people in the Town hall read it (licensing unit staff and elected members), so I plod on trying to get the message across.
Your post are always welcome.
